Not a lot to report today, just a lot of walking through mostly gentle terrain. No snakes, no snowstorms, and sadly, no Gila Monsters. The lowland desert here should be a good habitat for them. The last one I saw in the wild was in our back yard in Tucson when I was 9 or 10.
It got pretty darn hot today, enough to force me to slow my pace at times. The Chrome Dome umbrella really shined today, so to speak and it made walking far more comfortable than it would otherwise have been in these shadeless hills.
Hoping tomorrow will be my day to encounter a Gila Monster and observe it going about its business.
